Blora – Minister of Defense Prabowo Subianto and Minister of Agriculture Amran Sulaiman unite in supporting the National Food Production Increase Movement through the Optimization of the Village Forest Community Institutions (LMDH) throughout Central Java Province. The event took place at Kridosono Field, Blora Regency, on Thursday (1/18/2024), attended by thousands of farmers and various local officials.
At the event, Prabowo Subianto and Amran Sulaiman delivered symbolic assistance to LMDH throughout Central Java. The assistance includes 100,000 seedlings of fruit plants, such as avocado, longan, durian, and mango. In addition, assistance was also provided in the form of corn and rice seeds, 150 goats, 1,000 chickens, as well as coconut, cashew, and sugarcane seedlings to support agriculture and animal husbandry in the region.
Minister of Defense Prabowo Subianto, in his speech, emphasized the importance of the agricultural sector in strengthening the nation’s livelihood. “Without food, there is no country, without food, there is no human civilization. Therefore, we must maintain the sustainability of our own food production,” he said. Prabowo also expressed his respect and gratitude to Indonesian farmers who have struggled to produce food for the entire population.
Minister of Agriculture Amran Sulaiman stressed the importance of active participation from all parties, including agricultural extension workers, Babinsa (village supervisory non-commissioned officers), and Babinkamtibmas (village police officers), in supporting the success of the agricultural production increase program.
“We must together accelerate food production in Indonesia to achieve food self-sufficiency and not depend on imports,” said Amran Sulaiman.
In his speech, Prabowo Subianto reaffirmed his commitment to national food security.
“I salute Indonesian farmers, you are the heroes of Indonesia, you sweat for the nation,” he declared.
Prabowo also appreciated the performance of Minister of Agriculture Amran Sulaiman in bringing significant progress to the agricultural sector.
The event was also attended by several officials, including the Minister of Home Affairs, Acting Governor of Central Java, Central Java Regional Police Chief, and various government officials and regional heads in Blora Regency. Full support from the central government through the National Food Production Increase Movement program and the optimization of LMDH is expected to have a positive impact on the welfare of farmers and national food security.
