At a video conference for the inauguration of renewable energy projects and oil production expansion in East Java, Prabowo highlighted Indonesia’s efficiency in energy generation and reducing logistics costs. He stressed the importance of energy independence in the nation’s goal of sovereignty, unveiling plans for 55 new renewable energy initiatives, including geothermal power plants, to supply clean and reliable energy throughout the archipelago.
Acknowledging the cooperation of ministries, regulatory bodies, and energy companies like Medco Energi and ExxonMobil in Indonesia’s energy transition, President Prabowo highlighted the country’s significant oil and gas reserves. Despite this, he underlined the necessity of renewable energy, particularly solar power, to ensure energy self-sufficiency for communities nationwide. Prabowo expressed optimism for Indonesia’s future, viewing solar energy as a promising solution for villages, districts, regencies, and remote islands. By leveraging renewable energy sources, Indonesia can lead the way to a brighter and more sustainable future.
