President of Indonesia, Prabowo Subianto, expressed his excitement about Brazilian President Luiz Inácio Lula da Silva’s initiative to bring a large number of Brazilian entrepreneurs to Indonesia. This statement was made by Prabowo after a bilateral meeting with Lula at the Palácio do Planalto in Brasília on July 9. He warmly welcomed the plan, highlighting the potential to enhance cooperation between the two countries, especially in terms of trade and investment. Prabowo emphasized the importance of turning agreements into tangible actions to deepen economic relations between Indonesia and Brazil, acknowledging their shared interests and abundant resources. He also lauded Brazil’s advancements in agriculture and bioenergy, expressing Indonesia’s eagerness to learn from Brazil’s achievements in these areas. Furthermore, Prabowo appreciated Lula’s support for Indonesia’s intention to send technical teams to study Brazil’s innovations and agricultural technologies. In addition to his visit to Brasília, Prabowo attended the BRICS Summit in Rio de Janeiro while in Brazil. President Lula is expected to visit Indonesia in October, and Prabowo mentioned plans for a birthday celebration in Jakarta to commemorate Lula’s upcoming 80th birthday.
